#1. Submarine Delivered to Indian Navy
Recently Indian Navy has received its 3rd diesel-electric submarine. The name of the submarine is INS Karanj. The sea trials of the INS Karanj had been started in 2018 and after the successful trials now it is commissioned in the Indian Navy. INS Karanj has advanced stealth and combat capabilities and has been built by the MDL in collaboration with a French Company. This
submarine has been built under Project 75.
#2. International Mother Language Day
International mother language day is celebrated across the world on 21st
February. It is observed to celebrate the importance of the mother tongue.
The idea of International Mother language day was first given by Bangladesh
UNESCO. After voting, it is finalized the International Mother language to be observed on 21st February. It was approved in 1999 by UNESCO and has been observed throughout the World since 2000.
#3. India's First Digital University
India gets its first digital University. After the Pandemic, everyone knows the importance of digital learning. To take a step forward Kerala launched its first digital University. This Digital University is set up in Kerala's
Technocity, Mangalapuram, and is inaugurated by the governor of Kerala Arif
Mohammad Khan.
The Digital University of Kerala focuses on Post Graduate and
Research-based Studies. This University has been started with 5 schools and
they are:- Schools of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Digital
Sciences, School of Electronics System and Automation, School of
Informatics, School of Digital Humanities, and Liberal Arts.
#4. Tree City of the World 2020
Tree City of the World 2020 is presented by the Arbor Day Foundation and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nation. This is awarded to the 119 cities from 63 countries. The Top three countries who have won
the maximum no of Tree cities award is the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, and the no of cities in each individual among this top 3 are
38, 15, and 11 respectively.
Hyderabad the only cities of Indian that won the Tree City of the World 2020.
#5. IDEX and NAVDEX 2021
IDEX and NAVDEX is the International defense exhibition and Conference.
This time it is organized in UAE. This is the 15th edition of the exhibition. In this Pandemic, this is not going to be a virtual conference as happens many between the countries nowadays. This is going to be in
person conference.
IDEX and NAVDEX 2021 are set to organize in UAE between 21 February to 25
February. This time more than 1300 vendors and 5 countries are participating to showcase their defense products. India also participating in this exhibition. India sends INS Pralaya to participate in IDEX and NAVDEX
2021.
